Megan Phelps

Megan Phelps is a watercolor artist based in the greater Palouse region. She takes inspiration from nature—especially flora and fauna, which is why her Instagram social media page is titled "Hinterland Wonders." “I grew up travelling throughout the Pacific Northwest to visit family, always inspired by the landscapes we would pass by. From the Oregon Coast, to the Teton Mountain Range and beyond, there’s endless beauty.”

She began painting in watercolor during her Senior year of High School under the guidance of Aleen Guerra-Hyer. After several years, she came back to watercolor during the start of the pandemic and has continued to pick up a paintbrush ever since.

Megan is thankful to have joined Palouse Watercolor Socius. It is a joy to see what others have created each month. This group keeps her motivated to explore the challenges and wonders of the medium.
